Last Stop: One More for the Road
THIS EVENT ALREADY HAPPENED. SIGN UP TO TRAILS MAIL TO HEAR WHEN THE OUTBACK TRAIL RETURNS!
Whether you’re joining the Trail for the first time or you've been along for the whole ride, you're invited to our final celebration on the Outback Trail. Gather with fellow Trail-goers and locals alike for an evening of great music and revel in the stories of the journey we’ve had across this sunburnt country.
We kick up The Sundowner party celebrations with the rhythms of jazz from former member of The Cat Empire, Harry James Angus, with a sing-along led by your On The Road hosts The Barleyshakes Duo.
We will be sorry to see you go, but until next year, let’s make The Sundowner a story to take home with us. Rug up under the stars and cap off the 2023 Outback Trail with this unforgettable night of music and community!
As Roy Rogers would say - happy trails to you, until we meet again!
On the Road with the Barleyshakes Duo
It's not a goodbye but a see-you-later from The Barleyshakes Duo on the final pitstop for On the Road the night before The Sundowner. Whether you're joining us for the first time or the last, take a moment to share stories of your epic road trip with fellow Trail-goers here in Tambo.

What on earth is a Chicken Race?
Join us at 4.30pm for the inaugural Outback Trail Chicken Race!
Chickens, a remote-controlled car, and some "special" chicken treats combine forces to create the world's first CHICKEN RACES! All of the ladies are auctioned individually for every race, and the winner is the lady who crosses the finish line first! 50% of the winnings go to charity and the other 50% go to the winning lady's generous owner (who won her at auction but doesn't get to take her home!).
All of the ladies are treated humanely and with respect and will never end up on your plate. 2023 is the 8th year of Ben’s Chicken Racing, and we are super excited for the inaugural Outback Trail Chicken Race!
