No matter which way your outback adventure takes you, you will pass through the quintessential Outback town of Cunnamulla. Famous for its statue of the Cunnamulla Fella - immortalised in song by Slim Dusty – this charming town boasts stunning riverside hot springs and authentic Outback farming homestays. We’ll stop in Cunnamulla to enjoy an evening with the locals.
Start your night at the Cunnamulla Railway Station for a screening of an Australian film classic in the town’s cinema. Afterward, head to The Club Boutique Hotel for a delicious dinner and live performance by the talented Sue Ray.
To reach Cunnamulla from Charlotte Plains, start by heading northwest on Charlotte Plains Road for about 13 kilometers, then turn right onto the Balonne Highway (A71).
The drive along the highway, which is fully sealed and well-maintained, continues for approximately 35 kilometers and takes around 30 to 40 minutes. This route offers scenic views of the beautiful outback along the way.
In Cunnamulla, you'll find a variety of accommodation options to suit every preference and budget. Whether you prefer the comfort of hotels and motels, the warmth of charming bed-and-breakfasts, the convenience of self-contained units, or the adventure of camping and caravan parks, rest assured, you'll find a great place to stay!
Known for the iconic Cunnamulla Fella, a tribute to the spirited Aussie stockman, the town invites visitors to immerse themselves in its stunning landscapes and rich historical sites. Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation, Cunnamulla offers a warm welcome and a true taste of outback life.
