PRESENTED BY QLD MUSIC TRAILS

Gather the family for a wholesome day out in the heart of nature at Sprout & About — a relaxed Sunday celebration of community, culture and connection at the beautiful Kooralbyn Permaculture Garden.

The day’s soundtrack comes from South East Queensland artist Amy John Roberts, whose warm, melodic sound blends soft rock influences with heartfelt storytelling — the perfect backdrop for a Sunday in the Scenic Rim.

Alongside the music, there’s plenty to explore. Step into the garden for Garden to Plate, a 45-minute hands-on workshop celebrating the flavours of the season. Rachel from Jasmine Urban Farm will share how to grow, harvest and preserve herbs, including fragrant herb oils to use year-round. Then, Lizz Hill from Cottage Collective will guide you through transforming ripe tomatoes into the perfect pizza base sauce, inspiring you to bring more local, seasonal goodness into your kitchen. You’ll even pick herbs straight from the garden to enjoy fresh with a food option — a true garden-to-plate experience.

For the little green thumbs, creativity and nature come alive with clay Flower Frog Making, Seed Bomb Crafting, and a Pot-Your-Own-Plant station where they can take home their very own potted herb seedling. These free-flow activities encourage curiosity, play and hands-on learning at their own pace.

Round out the day with a wander through the Kooralbyn Community Garden Produce Stall, grab a bite from the on-site food and coffee vendor, and settle in for a Mununjali Cultural Storytelling session that shares deep cultural knowledge with audiences of all ages.
