From 5 – 15 June 2025, QLD Music Trails – The Reef invites you on a journey through Queensland’s stunning coastal landscapes, where music, culture, and nature converge to create an unparalleled experience.

This thoughtfully designed self-drive itinerary takes you through Mackay, Townsville, and the Whitsundays, showcasing some of the region’s most remarkable destinations. Highlights include the serene beauty of Cape Hillsborough National Park, the charm of Magnetic Island, and the tranquil waters of Lake Proserpine.

Along the way, enjoy intimate live performances by renowned artists such as Xavier Rudd, Kee'ahn, Tom Busby, Amber Farnan, Those Folk, and others. Each event is carefully set in breathtaking locations, offering a unique opportunity to experience the music in perfect harmony with the landscape and the region's rich stories.

The Reef Trail offers the flexibility to curate your journey while travelling alongside a community of like-minded explorers. Whether you’re visiting iconic destinations or uncovering hidden gems, this bespoke adventure allows you to experience Queensland’s coast on your terms.

Calling All Emerging Songwriters: Join 'Songs from the Reef'!

Take your music to new heights with mentorship, community, and a chance to perform at QLD Music Trails – The Reef

"Songs from the Reef" is an exciting community songwriting program for emerging songwriters living along Queensland’s stunning reef, from Townsville to Mackay. Starting in April, 20 songwriters will join a 10-week online program with I Heart Songwriting Club to sharpen their skills, receive expert mentorship, and write up to 200 songs. The journey will come to life at QLD Music Trails – The Reef, where participants will showcase their talent at The Reef Sundowner fireside jam in Proserpine on June 12, 2025.

Expressions of interest are open from Feb 4 to March 3, 2025.

This program is proudly developed and presented by I Heart Songwriting Club, with support from QMF and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
