Commencing the festival with the resounding brilliance of brass instruments echoing throughout the breathtaking Hangar venue, Ensemble Q's distinguished 5-star performers will guide the audience on a profound emotional odyssey. From the delicate beauty of Puccini's exquisite string quartet "Crisantemi" (Chrysanthemums) to the commanding fervour of Brahms' Clarinet Quintet, featuring the unparalleled artistry of Australia's foremost clarinetist, Paul Dean. The journey culminates in the spirited and beloved finale, the Holberg Suite for string orchestra by Grieg, ensuring a triumphant and unforgettable musical experience.Â
Indulge in a lavish musical soirĂ©e as you sip champagne to the enchanting sounds of Paris. Experience the artistry of Ensemble Q in a stunning chamber concert featuring beloved French works, such as the cherished Sicilienne for flute and harp, and the profoundly moving Elegy for cello and strings. The concert reaches its pinnacle with a performance by Eva Kong in Poulenc’s exquisite 'C,' and Ensemble Q's virtuosity shines in Ravel’s masterpieces—the mesmerising string quartet and the evocative Introduction and Allegro for harp, flute, clarinet and string quartet.Â
Australian voices unites six distinguished contemporary Australian composers in a captivating, emotionally charged and occasionally humorous program featuring works for a chamber ensemble. Experience a rollercoaster of emotions as you laugh and cry through Michael Leunig's "Curly Pyjama Letters" in Calvin Bowman’s brilliant composition for string quartet and narrator. Be profoundly moved by Melody Eotvos's "Meraki" for string orchestra, astounded by Paul Dean’s "Four Moments" for Solo Clarinet, and transported to an outer galaxy by Lachlan Skipworth’s "Clarinet Quintet."
Ensemble Q, alongside QSO star harpist Emily Granger, presents a dazzling composition by her husband Tristan Coelho. Additionally, Trish Dean will bring the spirits to life with a unique co-production involving willing audience members in "Reclaiming the Spirit" for solo cello and pool tubing. Â
In this captivating performance at Jimbour, Camerata embarks on a visionary reimagining of "The Four Seasons," weaving together the timeless melodies of Vivaldi with Max Richter's contemporary take from his acclaimed post-minimalist album, "Recomposed by Max Richter." Astor Piazzolla adds a touch of Buenos Aires tango to "Spring," while American fiddler Mark O’Conner contributes a North American season. To capture the chilling essence of Winter, the ensemble will present the sublime "Tibetan Winter" by Roxanna Panufnik. Â
Camerata will also be joined by special guest, esteemed Australian Guitar, Mandolin and Banjo virtuoso Joel Woods for Mark O’Connor spritely “Summer”. Â
