DIAMONDS IN THE DUST

A little spark in the heart of the Outback.

Pull up a chair in Winton on Monday 17 May for Diamonds in the Dust, the Outback’s first pop-up piano bar, taking over the iconic Dustarena for one very special night.

Featuring:

  • Local artist Taylah Little

As the sun goes down and the stars come out, the piano fires up and you help control the playlist. Make a request, call out an old favourite or join in for a sing-along. Our piano player will be joined throughout the night by a cast of local talent and special guest artists.

Equal parts dusty and dazzling, Diamonds in the Dust is intimate, spontaneous and made to be shared. Grab a drink, pick a song and raise your voice under the ‘everlasting stars’ of the Milky Way.

Tickets to Diamonds in the Dust are available as a single event, or if you're joining us for the full journey along the Outback Trail, this event is included in the Trail Traveller Super Pass.

THE 2027 OUTBACK TRAIL

Charleville ➜ Blackall ➜ Barcaldine ➜ Longreach ➜ Winton ➜ Julia Creek ➜ Mount Isa

From Charleville to Mount Isa, an Outback Queensland adventure is calling, and music leads the way as QLD Music Trails: The Outback returns for its fifth year from 8 – 22 May.

We invite you to let the music take you on a one-of-a-kind self-drive adventure that blends live music experiences, unforgettable landscapes, and the warmth of country communities into a journey like no other.

Welcome to Winton

Winton is where Australia's most beloved song, "Waltzing Matilda," was born, giving this small outback Queensland town a proud place in the nation's folklore.

Beyond its musical history, visitors can explore fascinating attractions, from opal fields and ancient fossil sites to quirky local landmarks and lively annual festivals.

Surrounded by open plains and rich wildlife, Winton offers a genuine taste of the outback experience. Visit the Winton Tourism website to start planning your trip.

QMF respectfully acknowledges the Koa Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands, waters and skies of Winton, where Diamonds in the Dust unfolds. We honour their deep and unbroken connection to Country, culture and community, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise that music, art and story have echoed across these lands since time immemorial, shaped by knowledge holders whose cultural practices continue to influence and inspire this event.
