The event will take place on Yuwi Country in Cape Hilllsborough, Mackay, on the beach. This land is ancient, fragile and home to vulnerable and critically endangered wildlife. As such, this site is protected by the Yuwi Aboriginal Corporation and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. It is a deep honour and privilege for us to gather here. Qld Music Trails is so grateful to the Yuwi people for granting this permission, and invite patrons to tread on this land with due care and respect.
Between the Tides brings together music and culture for an immersive experience to delight the senses in one of the most beautiful places in Australia. Comprised of two key spaces, the event offers a range of unique experiences set to the backdrop of Queensland's finest vistas:
The Gathering SpaceLocated at the parkland at the entry of Cape Hillsborough, patrons will first gather here for a pre-show immersive experience of food, art and culture featuring a range of local providers and artists. A bar and food stalls will offer delicious treats which can be enjoyed while listening to some local live First Nations entertainment. A small market will showcase some of the region's Aboriginal artisans and craftsmanship. Following the conclusion of the performance, patrons will have the opportunity to revisit this experience before departing.
The Concert SpaceWhen the stage is ready patrons will be invited to make their way down to the scenic beach of Cape Hillsborough for a stunning evening of song and celebration.
Patrons require a ticket to enter the event grounds (Gathering Space & Concert Space).
The event space will be monitored by security and National Parkland rangers to ensure that the pristine land is protected and patrons and public are adhering to the strict Wildlife protection regulations. This is inclusive of monitoring non-event approved vehicles, littering, wildlife interaction and activities carried out without the necessary permits.
