Yagurli Tours is an Indigenous-owned business operated by the Gangalidda and Garawa Peoples.

It is located in Burketown on the Albert River in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900km east of Cairns and approximately 30km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Yagurli means “Fish” in the Gangalidda language. Presently, Yagurli Tours offer full day Fishing Charters (7 hours) on the Albert River, 4 Wheel Drive Tag Along with Cultural Tours (3 to 4 hours), and Stargazing with Indigenous Storytelling (2 hours), as well as Sunset River Cruises (2 hours).

The Gangalidda People are recognised as the traditional landowners in and around Burketown and are part of Australia’s rich cultural heritage that dates back more than 70,000 years. It is one of the world’s oldest continual cultures. It has a diversity of language, art, dance, with a core primary cultural value of looking after Country and living sustainably. These are highly prized values in a modern urbanized world.
