Just 12km north of Birdsville stand one of the last patches of one of Australia’s rarest plants, the Waddi Waddi Tree. These ancient trees (some are nearly a thousand years old) have timber strong enough to damage an axe, and they are almost impossible to burn. Make sure to keep an eye out for this relic of Ancient Australia.
