Longreach Historic Railway Station

The Longreach Historic Railway Station, in Outback Queensland, offers a glimpse into Australia’s rail history and the development of remote communities. Located in the centre of Longreach, the station remains an important landmark and working transport hub.

Built in 1916, the station features classic Queensland railway architecture, including wide verandas and corrugated iron roofing. It played a key role in connecting inland towns and supporting the movement of passengers, livestock and goods across the region.
