About
The Wet Whistles are four fun-loving, beer-drinking, Brissy-living, country-singing guys who love nothing more than rocking up, plugging in, and letting the good times roll with their trademark creamy four-part harmonies and big singalong choruses. Nick Trovas, Caillin Malley, and brothers Jordan and Jake Hill all met on Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley pub gig circuit, and the four mates soon realized they all shared a love for country music and timeless melodies. This led to a few beer-fuelled jam sessions, and The Wet Whistles were born.
Country pop is a picture as much as it is a song, and The Wet Whistles’ fiercely egalitarian, “four across the front” brothers-in-arms ethic is their secret weapon. Four lead singers and four-part harmonies offer up a little something special.
Two years of winning over audiences in both city and country Queensland gave the band the confidence to start writing their own originals and focusing on a bonafide country music career. This led them to start recording with Jay Bovino (guitarist and songwriter from international stars Sheppard), and their first commercial releases will be out in March 2024.
The band is in the midst of booking a slew of exciting live shows throughout 2024 in a tireless bid to grow their fanbase further. Expect to see a very special show on the Crowbar at this year’s Gympie Muster!
