Abi Muir

About

Described as a “tropical breeze in the music world – refreshing, soothing, and utterly enjoyable”. Abi is known for her distinctive, goosebump-inducing vocals and heartfelt lyrics which define her creative songwriting, captivating her audience in the delivery of her infectious, pop gems.

Her unique style sees her delivering memorable, catchy pop songs of singer-songwriter prose with a contemporary pop sound; think Ariana Grande vocals with Sabrina Carpenter production. Showing a growth in songwriting from the dreaminess of her debut single heebiejeebies, through her powerful, darkly moving award-winning rock track Stockholm, to the “intoxicating maelstrom of competing emotions” delivered in her debut EP “To You”, which gained her an invite to open for Dami Im at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, her band to win the Cairns Passport to Airlie Finals and for her to fly to Nashville to perform her heart-touching ballad I forgot about me at the Exit/Inn. Abi now embarks on a more unapologetic pop-from-the-heart phase in her latest work with producer Ghostpops at Tokyo Dope City Studios.

Abi has been a QMA Finalist for 2 consecutive years, an International Unsigned Only winner, (music video) & Highly Commended (Vocal Performance), a John Lennon Award winner, a John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize winner, a Regional Arts Development Fund major round grant recipient, the Cairns Regional Council Junior Cultural Award Winner and a featured vocalist at Creative Generation State Schools on Stage. She also holds the Cancer Council Queensland close to her heart and has voluntarily performed at the Barlow Park Relay for Life for the last 4 consecutive years. With a string of singles being released in 2024, FNQ’s pop princess is shining a bright light on Australian pop music.
